VILLA EXPERIENCE
STAFF
One of the main advantages of staying in a villa is having the personalised service of a dedicated team of staff. The team at Sawarin are experienced professionals who offer warm and attentive Thai hospitality at its best.
Villa manager
Sawarin’s full-time manager and concierge is on hand to help plan and arrange dining and service requirements and ensure that guests have everything they need. He is supported by the long-serving house manager, and stays on-site throughout your stay.
Chef
Sawarin’s talented chef prepares meals from the villa’s suggestion menu of Thai and Western dishes, and is pleased to discuss special requests and dietary requirements. The chef and service staff handle all the shopping as well as the preparation of breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Housekeeping
Three housekeepers take care of all the cleaning and tidying duties at the villa, and assist the chef with kitchen and dining services.
Pool & Garden
The villa’s pool is cleaned three times a week and the gardens are serviced daily.
Spa/Massage
Ask your villa manager to arrange for a masseuse or beauty practitioner to administer a restorative massage or other treatment in Villa Sawarin’s private spa room (extra charges apply).
Security
Estate security staff work on rotating shifts 24 hours a day.
DINING
Dining is a true delight at Villa Sawarin with its custom-designed menu brimming with a range of Thai and Western dishes, as well as a wine menu.
Having a personal chef offers an excellent chance to explore Thai cuisine, and many guests have enjoyed lingering in the chef’s kitchen to learn his techniques. Ask the chef for his recommendations and be sure to advise him of any particular taste preferences or dietary restrictions.
All groceries and beverages are charged at market price plus 20% of grocery cost as handling fee – subject to 7% vat. Guests will be asked to provide money for groceries upfront, and the staff will do the shopping and keep the receipts for reference. To ensure the chef and staff have ample time to prepare, guests are encouraged to plan meals at least a day or two in advance.
FAMILIES
With so much space and such a great range of activities and facilities, Sawarin is a fantastic retreat for families.
Indoor entertainment includes flat-screen TVs in every bedroom and most living areas, and a comfy games room with pool table and a home theatre system. Those who love the outdoors will enjoy exploring Sawarin’s extensive gardens.
Cape Yamu’s shallow tidal bay may not be the best for swimming but the sand-flats and rocky shoreline are fun for sandcastle building and beachcombing. Or take the sea kayaks and stand-up paddleboards out to explore the lush coastline. Back up at the villa, the 23-metre pool offers plenty of space for the whole family to enjoy, with pool toys provided. Young children and toddlers will need to be watched closely though, since the pool is deep and lacks a safety fence.
The villa’s ten ensuite bedrooms are well designed to accommodate the varying needs of families, with two sets of connected bedrooms and a choice of twin or king-sized beds – and kids will love the colorful built-in alcove lounging seats in the “green” and “orange” bedrooms.
Traveling with children’s equipment can be cumbersome, therefore the villa thoughtfully provided for high chairs and baby cots. Be sure to ask for our help in arranging to hire car seats or any other additional items you might need, all available for a small extra charge.
Having a dedicated team of staff including a chef on hand all day is another benefit for families at Villa Sawarin. The villa’s menu has several child-friendly choices and its modern guest kitchen makes planning and preparing meals for even the pickiest eaters a breeze.
Beyond the villa, families will also enjoy use of the facilities within The Cape estate and the nearby Point Yamu by COMO resort, plus the resort’s private beach club just minutes away by boat on Naka Yai island at a nominal fee. For further exploration, be sure to check our things to do page for more ideas, or ask your villa manager about the many family-friendly attractions around the island.
SPA
With its tranquil and beautifully appointed spa room, a massage or beauty session is a must at Villa Sawarin. Browse the villa’s spa menu and choose from a number of treatments including a revitalizing Thai massage or a soothing oil massage, or perhaps you’d like to treat yourself to a poolside pedicure with a view. All treatments are carried out by professional local practitioners vetted by our villa team.
Traditional Thai massage
A healing technique that will leave you energised, traditional Thai massage combines stretching, manipulations and rhythmic compressions to stimulate flow along the ‘meridians’ of the body without using oil.
Aromatherapy massage
A therapeutic, holistic massage technique that uses blends of essential oils customised to each individual’s personal needs.
Manicure/Pedicure
Give your hands and feet a deserving treat with a manicure or pedicure, with the added bonus of a hand or foot massage. Our nail spa uses OPI Nails Lacquer for long-lasting shine and colour.
